MATTHEW Paper Doll

 1983.  AMANDA GOES WEST.  A Journal of Fashion History Through Paper Dolls by Betty J. Mills and Illustrated by L. C.  Ross.  Book 1 of the Amanda Series.  Amanda and her family leave Tennessee and head out to Texas in 1838.  Matthew and his family also moved to Texas.  The series of paper doll books follow the daily life of Amanda and her husband, Matthew, as they raise their family in Texas.

Celebrating the TEXAS Declaration of Independence

 1974.  The Story of TEXAS.  A History Picture Book by Betsy Warren and Martha Ingerson.  RanchGate,  Austin, Texas.  I found this book about 4 months ago at Half-Price Books.


On March 02, 1836, a Declaration of Independence was issued from Washington-on-the-Brazos where the delegates were meeting in a blacksmith's shop.  I see SAM HOUSTON on his horse everytime I go to Hermann Park.  To be continued on March 06 . . . a day to remember!
