My cousin George had heart transplant surgery on Monday and he is already in a private room and doing really good.  It still boggles my mind that a medical team can remove your heart and replace it with a donor heart. So many prayers went out this week - and those prayers were answered.

This postcard is not titled.  It is on the same page as the above postcards so I assume that it is of a scene in Glacier National Park.  All the post cards are glued down in the scrapbook.

The couples that took this trip were at Glacier National Park on July 11 & 12, 1947.  I have said it before, but this scrapbook is one of my favorite garage sale finds.

Jean Gabin, The Man DIETRICH Loved

I went a few years ago to view Jean Renoir's "Grand Illusion", 75th Anniversary Restoration.  A terrific film.  The movie starred Jean Gabin and Erich von Stroheim.  Jean Gabin was the actor that Marlene Dietrich was madly in love with.  She risked life and limb to follow him during his military service in World War II.

CATS Just Wanna Have Fun - The Jolly Birds!

 September 24, 1922.  BILLY AND KITTY KAT SPEND A DAY AT THE SEASHORE.  Billy Kat seems to be very proud about something - wonder if he really went in bathing.  Do you like his boardwalk suit?  Kitty Kat's afraid the big wave will wet her new bathing suit.  Kitty wears a big hat to keep from getting freckles.  She thinks her best dress is darling.  These paper dolls are very cute after coloring.

 October 27, 1901.  Illustration by Louis Wain from a story in the children's section in a newspaper.  I call this picture "The Three Sisters Go For A Wild Ride".  The three sisters are of course, Rose, Violet and Daisy.

"Easter Bells Are Ringing" Board Walk, Atlantic City, N.J.

1903.  From the trunk of my great-grandmother, Mattie Rebecca Sweatt Deshazo.  My uncle Rayvon collected stamps and it seems he sometimes cut the stamps from the post cards - oh well - as long as he had fun with the stamps.  This post card shows a crowd of people at Easter walking on the Board Walk in Atlantic City, N. J.    The card is marked Arthur Livingston, N. Y.  No. 606.

Postcard.  This postcard is from the trunk of  my great-grandmother, Mattie Sweatt Deshazo.  She was born in Alabama and lived in Alabama and Florida.  Where she got all these postcards addressed to a Mrs. Tower in Cohasset, Mass. I do not know.  This postcard was published by Photo & Art Postal Card Co. New York City, #14979.  The card reads, "Such a poor picture of a very pretty place.  This hotel is fine and stands so high that we seem to be way up in the mountains.  We are having beautiful drives and are enjoying it very much here.  Suppose Mr. Tower & Bess go tomorrow.  With love, Edith."
