1984.  An original paper doll by Kay Stamps.  This Abigail Adams paper doll is from "Ten Famous Ladies In American History" published in 1984 by Kay Stamps.  I don't know if this book is still available but it combines two of my favorites, paper dolls and history.

OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND as Melanie by Charlotte Whatley

1985.  Charlotte Whatley's production of Margaret Mitchell's Story of the Old South.  50th Anniversary Archival Edition, GONE WITH THE WIND Paper Doll Paint Book.  A Honey Hollow Renaissance Release.  Book No. 96 in a series of 500, signed 4/3/86 Charlotte Whatley.

This paper doll book belongs to my mom.  It is my favorite Gone With The Wind paper doll book.  It includes dolls of Scarlett, Rhett, Bonnie Blue, Melanie and Ashley and has 38 pages of clothing.  Fun, fun, fun!

CHARLES VENTURA Designs in 1947 and 1988

 January 12, 1947.  I was really surprised when I saw Charles Ventura's name among the people that submitted outfits for BOOTS & her friends.  Here is a dress for Cora and he also submitted a dress for BOOTS in 1945.

1988.  And 41 years later here is a Charles Ventura original paper doll from THE ORIGINAL PAPER DOLL ARTIST'S GUILD newsletter.

EMMA, A Young Lady of Fashion

1988.  Printed in Santa Monica, CA USA by Vaughn Printing.  Produced by Garr-Maiden 1988.  Designed by John Darcy Noble.  #1720 out of 2000.  "EMMA is a lavishly equipped paper doll, who possesses no less than ten different costumes.  They are based on the designs of Nicholas Heideloff, who in 1794 launched in England his GALLERY OF FASHION, a publication devoted to dress."  This is a very lovely paper doll set from my mom's collection.

A Cat Paper Doll by Kay Stamps

1984.  Here is TABBY, a cute cat paper doll by paper doll artist KAY STAMPS.  My mom used to subscribe to the OPDAG newsletter and she would purchase paper dolls from several of the artists that advertised their work in the newsletter.  TABBY likes to have PUNKY DUNK stories read to her.

October 27, 1960.  I Like!!!  I could not wait until next Halloween to put this mask on my blog.  This has to be one of my favorite finds in the newspaper archives.  A PIGGLY WIGGLY Halloween mask from a store ad in an Iowan newspaper.  I will be donning my Piggly Wiggly mask and I hope you will too.
